Apple iPhone 14 Review

It’s almost here! As you know, the iPhone 14 was officially announced this week, and it’s expected to be available in stores on September 1st. If you’re wondering whether you should upgrade, here’s everything you need to know about the iPhone 14 and whether or not it’s worth your hard-earned cash. The Good Stuff The new design of the iPhone 14 is gorgeous and extremely comfortable to hold in one hand. A smaller screen makes reading emails, browsing Instagram, and other daily activities much easier than before.

Design and Hardware

Apple is back with a new phone iPhone 14, and they have made some pretty big changes to make it their best one yet. The design of the phone has changed significantly with an all-glass body and rounded edges which makes it more comfortable to hold than previous models. The screen is five inches instead of four, with 401 PPI and a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels per inch. It has three different color finishes including gold, silver, and space gray.

Battery Life, Size, Weight

We had to charge our phones every night, which is a bummer if you want to travel light or head out for a whole day. A full charge lasted about 12 hours. iPhone 14 has water resistance. The battery life isn’t as much of an issue because we were always near a charger, but it’s still worth mentioning. The weight and size of the phone are great – it feels nice in your hand and it’s easy to use with one hand.

iPhone 14 also has a slick design. The camera takes really good pictures that come out clear without being too grainy, which is awesome when taking photos in low-light conditions (like concerts). However, even though the camera takes really good pictures when there is plenty of natural lighting available, it does struggle more when there isn’t enough natural lighting.

Screen and Camera Quality

A notable difference between iPhone 14 and its predecessors is the quality of the camera. The 12MP rear camera can take some decent photos with a lot of detail, but there’s not a whole lot to brag about. The video is mostly okay, but it struggles in low light settings and with fast movement.

Unfortunately, there’s still no dual-lens option for front or back cameras. Battery life has also been significantly improved and I was able to get through an entire day without charging my phone once. When comparing Apple iPhone 14 vs 15, the newer model has slightly better battery life.
Overall I think iPhone 14 is worth upgrading if you’re using an older model like me; however, if you’ve just recently bought a newer device like Apple iPhone 16s Plus then it might be best to wait another year until they release their next update.

  1. One of the key new features of the iPhone 14 is security. It now comes with a finger scanner, called the Touch ID.
  2. The Touch ID scanners are designed to be three times faster than previous models, and can also do more sensitive tasks like making online purchases through Apple Pay.
  3. Touch ID makes use of a digital fingerprint to unlock your phone instead of using a passcode or thumbprint scan.
  4. Even if someone could steal your device, they would need your fingerprint to access it.

Software Experience

IOS 11 is a big release for Apple’s mobile operating system. With new features and improvements like Screen Time, it’s easier than ever to stay in control of your phone use. But as usual, some questionable design decisions still make it hard to give this version of iOS an enthusiastic thumbs up. The biggest improvement is Screen Time, which was introduced with iOS 12 and became better with iOS 13. It lets you keep track of how much time you spend on apps, how many notifications you receive each day, and also how many times you unlock your phone every day. It’s not always clear what information it collects or how accurate it is — but at least it gives you insight into how much time you’re wasting on Facebook or Instagram or another app. And if all else fails, there’s Do Not Disturb mode so you can turn off notifications while working on something important (or just relaxing).

For those seeking a more affordable option, Apple unveiled the latest edition of their phone. The price is $549 for their baseline model, available in black or white with 8GB of memory. For $10 less, you can buy an iPhone 14 with 32GB of memory, also only in black or white. Additional features include a digital health screen, which will provide metrics on how many calories you’ve burned as well as info on your heart rate and sleep patterns.

Final Thoughts

All in all, it is a great phone, especially if you require an upgrade. The features are great and I am very pleased with my purchase. However, after looking at my bank account balance, I think I will be holding on to my old phone for a while. At this point, it just isn’t worth the money for me. If you may manage to pay for the upgrade, then I would particularly propose upgrading your vintage smartphone or waiting until Apple releases their subsequent line of phones. It seems like they’re releasing one each yr so hopefully, we might not have to wait too long!

Overall, if you’re upgrading from an older model and can justify the cost, then this phone will serve you well. It has a great camera for taking pictures, but it’s a little difficult to use at times. If you have an older model, it might be worth waiting to see if they come out with a new one in 2020. The battery life is just okay, which means that your phone may not last through the day without needing to charge again. The processing power is also a bit slower than other newer models. In general, this is not the best investment for someone who doesn’t need it.
