Then I came across the Microsoft Surface Laptop SE and fell in love! As you can see from the specs below, it checks all the boxes! If you are like me and don’t want to compromise on quality, definitely check out this laptop! In my opinion, this is one of the best laptops on the market right now and it’s worth every penny!

One Minute Review

The Microsoft Surface Laptop SE is a budget-friendly 2-in-1 laptop that offers some features usually found on more expensive models. It has a well-built aluminum chassis, a large and vibrant touchscreen display, and a comfortable keyboard. Its performance is good for everyday tasks, but it’s not powerful enough for demanding work or gaming. The battery life is disappointing, but overall, the Surface Laptop SE is a good value for the price.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop SE is available now starting at $399. Moreover, if you want more power, you can step up to an Intel Core i5-8350U CPU, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of SSD storage for $499. For the most powerful version, you’ll need to spend $799 on the Surface Laptop SE with an Intel Core i7-8650U CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage.

Design

Microsoft Surface Laptop SE

The first thing you’ll notice about the Surface Laptop is its design. The entire device is covered in a smooth, matte-black finish that looks and feels great. The keyboard is well-spaced and backlit, making it easy to type in low-light conditions. The trackpad is large and responsive, making it easy to navigate around the Windows 10 operating system. The device also has two front-facing speakers that sound amazing for watching videos or listening to music on the go. It’s also inside the sort of light gray color that amplifies any harm and is destined to appear grubby in a particularly quick space of time.

The Surface Laptop’s battery life is comparable to other laptops with similar hardware specifications and lasts for up to 14 hours per charge. The laptop also charges quickly when plugged into an outlet, as it can be fully charged within three hours.

Hardware

The Surface Laptop SE is a great computer. It’s got a beautiful design, a great screen, and a comfortable keyboard. The only downside is the battery life. I got about four hours of use on a full charge, which isn’t great. But overall, the Surface Laptop SE is a great computer. It’s disappointing that Microsoft used a terrible pin-barrel electricity connector when this machine has USB-C. Then compounded that mistake by way of configuring the USB-C port to be disabled for charging.

Therefore, if the PSU breaks or the energy inlet breaks, as they tend to do, the course of charging salvation has been correctly road blocked. It has everything you need to do your job, and it does it well. The laptop doesn’t have an optical drive for DVDs or CDs, but you can always buy one for about $25 at Best Buy if you need one. I highly recommend this laptop to students!

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The Microsoft Surface Laptop SE is a sleek and stylish laptop that looks great on any desk. It’s slim and light, yet still feels solid and well-built. The keyboard is comfortable to type on and the trackpad is large and responsive. The screen is bright and vibrant, with good viewing angles. Overall, the design, aesthetics, and ergonomics of the Surface Laptop SE are top-notch.

Keyboard, Touchpad, and TrackPoint

The keyboard on the Microsoft Surface Laptop SE is excellent. The keys are well-spaced and have a good amount of travel, making typing a breeze. The touchpad is also large and responsive, and the TrackPoint is a nice addition for those who like to use it. There is no fingerprint reader or Windows Hello camera but this can be forgiven considering how cheap the laptop is.

  • One side with a super speed USB-C port.
  • It shows a small display
  • It rounds out the ports with two USB 3.0 ports on the other side along with a headphone jack for personal audio needs.

Battery Life

The Microsoft Surface Laptop SE’s battery life is incredible. I was able to use it for almost an entire day without having to recharge it. And when I did finally need to recharge it, it only took about an hour and a half. The battery life is one of the best features of this laptop.

Value for Money

The Microsoft Surface Laptop SE is a great value for money. It’s a well-built laptop with a beautiful design and a great display. The performance is good for most tasks, and the battery life is impressive. The only downside is that the webcam is not very good.
